Sydney based soul duo Yum Yum are back again with a killer fresh new single ‘Do You Really?’ featuring knock-out brass beats by The Brass Knuckle Brass Band.
‘Do you really?’ draws you in with an upbeat contagious rhythm and blues bass line, layered with an infectious rock n roll guitar riff, sizzling Afro-Latin inspired percussion and brass hits reminiscent of a New Orleans marching brass band procession.
The track came about in classic Yum Yum style – unintentionally. It began as a homage to Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s track ‘The Creator’, with producer and one half of Yum Yum – Jayo James inspired by hip hop greats. The track continued to grow as ideas poured growing additional layers of vocals, guitar (Felix Akurangi), bass (Patrick Antonio Torres), and percussion. Later the brass section would cement its place as a strong feature of the track with its sweeping brass hits and harmonies by The Brass Knuckle Brass Band.
