For over fifty years, Booker T. Jones has been wooing millions with his penetrating sound and musical proficiency – producing and writing for many including; Otis Redding and Albert King. The four-time Grammy-winner and Rock and Roll Hall Of Famer’s latest effort is ‘Watch You Sleeping,’ a spine-tinglingly fragile blues number he recorded with Kori, daughter of the legendary Bill Withers.

Stepping out of the musical shadow of her renowned father, Kori manages to carve out a sole position on the track alongside Jones, creating a seemingly effortless collaboration that evokes a classic soul sound reminiscent of the golden age. In anticipation of Jones’ tenth studio album ‘Sound The Alarm’, we are exclusively streaming the track ‘Watch You Sleeping’ where Booker T. Jones demonstrates his ability in remaining devoted to his musical scenery. Check it out below:

Having managed to release ten albums over half a century, Jones marks his return to Stax, the label responsible for the gritty soul sound he helped construct with his group Booker T. & the M.G.’s, Memphis’ first integrated band in the early ‘60s. With an easy simplicity running throughout his catalogue, Jones’ ‘Sound The Alarm’ is guaranteed to strike a chord with audiophiles afar.

Joining Jones on the LP, which will be released on August 12 through Stax Records are Mayer Hawthorne, Anthony Hamilton, Vintage Trouble, Estelle, Gary Clark, Jr., Luke James, Raphael Saadiq, Ted Jones and Poncho Sanchez and Sheila E. Jones has also announced his eagerly awaited return to the UK with a four date residency from Wednesday 14 to Saturday, August 17 at Ronnie Scott’s. For more information, click here.
