Being Mary Jane just so happens to be the hottest thing to appear on BET since 106 & Park first aired on the network. Starring the gorgeous Gabrielle Union, the show revolves around TV News Anchor, Mary Jane Paul (played by Union) who is trying her best to have it all. She already has a fulfilling career which gives her the opportunity to show off her power and, although her family aren’t the most supportive, she still plays the role of devoted daughter.
She manages to juggle her job and family all while trying to find ‘Mr Right’ as well as trying to prove that society’s ‘a man will solve all your problems’ view isn’t entirely correct. The show aired to four million viewers and has gotten rave reviews but it’s not just the acting and storylines that should be receiving praise.
The wardrobe department definitely deserves a round of applause for dressing the cast superbly. Gabrielle Union in particular has been dressed to perfectly suit the character she’s portraying and her clothing is a mixture of professional chic and grown-up glam that most career women can relate too.
