Goose Island Beer Co. is hosting its LDN Block Party in the UK for the second year running on Saturday 23 September 2017 at RED Market in Shoreditch, London. The one-day festival will be headlined by critically acclaimed band White Lies.
Goose Island is pleased to announce that White Lies are headlining next month at LDN Block Party, playing favourite tracks including ‘To Lose My Life’ and ‘Fairground,’ and new material from their recent album ‘Friends.’ Festival-goers can also look forward to live performances from hip-hop success story Age of L.U.N.A, Scottish indie duo Honeyblood, quartet Superfood and R&B superstars Courts. Between the acts and closing the night will feature next level DJ sets from local legends John Robinson and Flashback Records.
The eclectic music will be accompanied by the finest craft beer line-up, including the new Goose Midway, award-winning Goose IPA, Bourbon County Stout, Sofie, and 312 Urban Wheat Ale, alongside rarer beers from Goose Island’s pioneering Chicago brewery.
There will also be an additional surprise for beer enthusiasts with the exclusive opportunity to try a new beer collaboration. Goose Island and Munich based brewers, Spaten Brauerei, have announced the launch of their very first collaboration, a classic German lager, ‘Keller Märzen.’ This new beer has been traditionally brewed, then kept in cellars at near-freezing temperatures. The result is a delicious, smooth, malty and unfiltered amber liquid with light, bready, sweetness and a delicate German hop flavour.
Goose Island has also teamed up with a variety of local street food vendors to tantalize taste buds on the day. Goose Island favourites, Smokey Tails from Hoxton Square, will be bringing their classic Midwest-themed ribs to feast on, with Greedy Khao offering an authentic Thai menu bursting with flavours and spices. Straight out of Spitalfields, Engine Hotdogs are bringing their famous homemade American style hotdogs and Biffs Jack Shack will be bringing tasty and indulgent vegan cuisine to tuck into. Not forgetting the sweet tooths out there, you can get your dessert fix in the form of posh, gourmet waffles from Waffle On.
Local artist, Ashes57 (who has created some of the most iconic images of the underground bass music scene from the early days of dubstep through to footwork and beyond) has teamed up with Goose Island and created an eye-catching event poster and an awe-inspiring wall art for the big event. Festival-goers can check out her artwork inspired by the local area on the day.
