Not content with bringing out a highly acclaimed collaborative album together, Jay Z and Kanye West enlisted the designing prowess of top brand The House of Givenchy for all their CD artwork.

Watch The Throne
has just been released worldwide with the designs of Riccardo Tisci encasing the undoubted musical excellence within. In celebration of this joint release, the designer decided to lend his creative vision to the inevitably historic production, having already designed the cover for the album’s first outing, H.A.M, in 2010.

The immense masculinity of these iconic artists, is characterised in the bold colours and angular lines, merge to create an effect which gives the outer an embroidered look whilst the inside artwork looks painted and printed. Tisci brings to the forefront his unique vision, organically incorporating detailed prints with out-of-focus religious symbols. Couture expertise translated into the music industry, Riccardo Tisci’s ideas used raw materials, animals faces, symmetrical American symbols, layered to great effect. Channeling one of the most upheld American values, respect, in his work he said ‘I am honoured to have been asked to be part of this incredible music moment with such amazing artists. I am impressed by the amount of respect they have for music and art. We share the same way of working : like a family.’

Watch The Throne is available worldwide now.
