Job description: Graphic Designer Intership
You are a creative Graphic Designer with all round design skills and the proven ability to conceptualise, design and see magazines through to artwork and print. Ideally you will have experience of magazine design and will have a strong and exciting graphic design portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design of graphics for magazine, website, banners and packaging to our customer’s specification or from internally generated ideas.
- Creating graphic artworks in specification format for our suppliers.
- To regularly go through magazines for graphic ideas.
- Photographing samples when needed.
- General office duties as needed from time to time
- Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialist
- Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programmes such as Quark Xpress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Studio, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash, as most graphic design work is now completed on a computer
Person Specification
Required attributes:
- Fluent using illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
- Talented, passionate about design, a creative thinker and problem solver, enthusiastic, self-motivated, dedicated and results driven.
- Able to work at a fast pace while still producing accurate and detailed work
- Capable of taking responsibility for projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of HTML and Javascript would be desirable but not essential.

Job description: Web Editor Intership
This exciting position requires you to lead, develop and implement aspects of our digital communication. You will work alongside our journalists, graphic designers and be managed by the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher.
The ideal candidate would have excellent editorial skills, with fluent English and language (both spoken and written). You should have experience of managing a web presence and carrying out communications work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Main responsibilities
- work with content management systems to publish or update online content
- take responsibility for Flavour’s websites
- set the overall tone of a website
- generate ideas for content
- commission work from freelance writers and other contributors
- manage blogs, forums, wikis and other forms of user-generated content
- liaise with SEO/SEM specialists, designers and web developers
- understand issues surrounding user experience, accessibility and information architecture
- edit content to desired length
- check articles for tone and style.
Key skills for web editors

- Ability to design, deliver and evaluate online campaigns using a range of online media, including interactive spaces
- Knowledge of digital trends
- Excellent knowledge of a range of applications and software including social media platforms, content management systems, image-editing software, MS Windows.

Youth lifestyle publication Flavour Magazine Ltd is recruiting two talented sales people. You will be given some leads but will mainly working off your own initiative selling advertising space in the print publication and online and securing sponsorship for Flavour events.

Hours and Environment
In theory your working will be around 37 hours, although generally you’ll work longer, with late finishes a regular feature.
You will be office-based, although may do some travelling to visit clients and prospects.
