Lenny Henry is the latest British talent to star in the Disney XD hit series, Phineas and Ferb. Lending his voice to a character on the BAFTA nominated and Emmy award winning series, Lenny will play Iggy – a knowledgeable and grub-eating safari park guide, in a special two part episode entitled Where’s Perry?. It will premiere on Disney XD on September 6 at 6pm and climax on October 4 at 5pm.

The 53-year-old actor joins an extensive star studded list of previous guest stars such Ben Stiller, Michael J. Fox, Selena Gomez, Slash, Jamie Oliver, David Mitchell, Damian Lewis, Gary Lineker and Jonathan Ross. Phineas and Ferb attracted six million British viewers between January and March 2012 and has attracted 289 million viewers worldwide. Check this, the show boasts First Lady Michelle Obama as one of its many millions of fans.

No stranger to voicing cartoon characters, Lenny Henry voices both Big and Small in the CBeebies childrens’ show and admitted he chose to voice Iggy to impress his adopted daughter, Billie. ‘To be offered Phineas And Ferb is quite groovy. The last thing I was in was The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists and my daughter said, “You could have told me you were in Pirates. I was with my friends and it was so embarrassing.” I think she thought that was good, so hopefully she’ll think this is good too.’

The first part of Phineas and Ferb: Where’s Perry? will premiere on Disney XD on September 6 at 6pm with the second part airing on October 4 at 5pm.
