newbrannewBRAN Community Fun day and Football Tournament take place on Sunday May 23rd @ Kennington Park Astro Turf.

Parents and children are set to enjoy themselves in the sack races, egg and spoon race, face painting alongside the football at this family fun-filled event.

DJs Steve Clark (Choice), Reggie Styles (Sony) and Coldsteps are just some of the DJs that will be playing on the day.

West Ham’s Zavon Hines will be presented to watch the ball skills of budding football stars. Last year football scouts came to support the event and as a result 4 young boys who competed in the tournament were invited to the Watford, Chelsea, Charlton and Tottenham Hotspur clubs for trials and scouts from Chelsea, Arsenal and Fulham are set to attend again.

Many organisations have gotten involved in this great event. 2 fingers to violence – a company that offers workshops to help tackle violent crime in Lambeth will be present along with The London Fire Brigade who will be doing demonstrations and making families aware of fire safety procedures and the MET will be supporting the event this year. We also have Lewisham Community Sports supporting us with the bouncy castles and other fun activities.

Dice who is the Director of Young People Matter (YPM, and a member of our team) will be supporting us and involved on the day. YPM is made up of a team of 14 young adults who all have the common goal to educate, support, guide and influence young people to strive for and steer their life in a positive direction.

Many celebrities like Tinie Tempah and A Dot have been invited and with the sun shinning how it has been lately this is set to be a fantastic day.

newBRAN ‘The Premier League Barbers and Hair Salon’ is based in South East London. Having a business in this area with quite a high crime rate, we are aware that the community needs help. The idea for this project came about last year after delivering a highly successful Community Fun Day that received positive feedback from businesses, local police & members of the community alike. It was a hugely fun, enjoyable and successful day attracting approximately 1,500 people from a variety of ages, ethnic backgrounds and residential areas.
