Pop up king, Jimmy Garcia is announcing – The Lodge On The River, which will be on The Southbank from 10th November until 31st December.
The Set-Up
The Lodge features a hand-built, wooden, two-storey alpine cabin, with ‘The Refuge’ on the top floor – a ticketed restaurant experience, and the ‘Winter Grill’ on the ground-floor, serving up a grab and go menu. In addition to this, customers will also find a stretch-tent covered outside bar serving warm winter beverages and cocktails whilst surrounded by visually stunning fire pits. Finally, the undisputed highlight of the Lodge would have to be the four gorgeous private dining domes situated in-between the trees and facing the River Thames; aptly named the ‘Snow Globes’.
The Food
With an alpine-themed menu to boot, guests in ‘The Refuge’ on the top floor will be able to indulge in Mulled Wine Cured Gravalax Salmon, Game Terrine on Brioche Toast and Smoked Goat’s Curd starters to share, followed by the traditional Alpine Fondue served with a selection of Artisan Charcuterie, New Potatoes, bread and salad. The downstairs ‘Winter Grill’ will serve grab and go dishes including the show-stopping Raclette Burger, the Wild Boar and Apple Hot Dog and ‘Aspen Fries’ topped with Parmesan and Truffle oil. The ‘Snow Globes’ will also feature a delicious fondue menu, with the option to add in Côte de Boeuf to share, with charred broccoli, salted almonds and chilli butter.
