To celebrate and support Pride, Adidas has partnered with a whole host of celebrities and creators such as Pharrell Williams, Blondey McCoy, Amanda Lepore, Edward Enninful, David Beckham and Kate Moss for their ‘Prouder’ campaign, who have all re-imagined their own versions of the iconic Adidas Samba shoe.
The shoes will go on display in a unique exhibition a the HENI gallery, before being auctioned off with proceeds going to LGBT youth charity Albert Kennedy Trust.
Here’s a first look at three newly unveiled, one-off adidas Samba shoes designed by Pet Shop Boys, New Order, and Boy George.
With 24% of young people facing homelessness identifying as LGBTQ+, the positive and supportive message from the ‘Prouder’ campaign and the auction of the adidas Samba trainers created by the supporters will help to ensure that no young person has to choose between a safe home and who they are,” says Tim Sigsworth MBE, Chief Executive, The Albert Kennedy Trust.
