Keith Elam, known as Guru, suffered a heart attack in New York and is in a coma, according to several sources. He is currently in critical condition.

Along with DJ Premier, the 43-year old rapper rose to fame as a founding member of the group Gangstarr. The group released 6 studio LPs before they disbanded in 2004. Guru has since released several solo projects under his own label 7 Grand Records.

His last release was Guru 7.0: Street Scriptures. Guru called it “one of my best albums to date!”
