Money On My Mind is the latest bit of music from Sam Smith and it is absolutely brilliant.
Produced by the excellent Two Inch Punch it uses the not so fresh tactic of the old skool rave drum pattern but that aside this is another track due for heavy rotation. Two Inch have created a beat that is a club banger-the drop is a beast. Sam Smith in turn shows his amazing vocal range as he osscilates with ease from high to low notes (surely a difficult track to cover). The lyrical composition is simple enough and let’s us know that Sam is a singer first and foremost and he does this music thing for the “love”-by implication anything else that he gets from his growing recognition is a bonus.
I actually featured Sam Smith in my Future Flavours section (the end of year round up of artists featured coming soon) and he continues to prove the faith in his talent-he just recently signed to the US label Capitol Records. Further than that a collabo with Disclosure on the magical Latch and work with the icon and all round amazing talent Nile Rodgers is surely just the beginning-Money On My Mind will be on my mind for a while.
