The 53rd Annual Grammy nominations were held in Los Angeles this year as the stars walked the red carpet ready for our critique.
The Best Dressed
American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez looked stunning in an impossibly short silver Emilio Pucci dress teamed with killer heels. It’s hard to believe this yummy mummy is now 40!
Songstress Mya might not have released a club banger in a while but she makes no mistake in reminding us that she still has the goods. She dazzles in an embellished, ice blue, sequined, mermaid style gown. The heavily lined eyes complete this elegant look perfectly.
Homage to Ms Jessica Rabbit comes to mind when we try to some up Kim Kardashian’s look this year. Her figure hugging Kaufman Franco gown showed off her famous curves in all the right places.
Jennifer Hudson was definitely was on trend this year in a stunning navy asymmetric corset-styled dress from Versace.
Katy Perry’s look may not be the obvious red carpet choice, but if there’s a place where she could get away with this look it’s the Grammys. Perry wore a custom Georgio Armani dress with attached feather wings while on the red carpet. The dress also featured Swarovski crystals. Her shoes were Casadei and she wore jewelry from Thomas
The always fashion forward Rhi Rhi wowed in this sensational white ruffled Jean Paul Gaultier gown with see-through panels. Some insiders revealed the starlet wasn’t wearing any knickers!
Nicki Minaj tried to out do Lady Gaga by dressing up in a leopard print ensemble from Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo.
Beyonce puts a new spin on the LBD (little black dress) by vamping it up with tailored shorts and sequin blazer to match designed by her mother of course. The diva who never fails to add a bit of glamour to any event she attends teamed her outfit with sparkly Christian Louboutin heels.
Selena Gomez looks all grown up in this show stopping off white metallic gown by J. Mandel.
The best dressed male by far was Drake as he strolled with Giorgio Armani tuxedo swagger down the red carpet,complete with a glittering bow tie.
The Worst
Whether or not you’ve caught onto Bieber fever, it’s undeniable that the Grammys was not a good look for the young star in this cliché unflattering suit.
Lets just say Cindi Lauper was out for Halloween early this year.
Lenny Kravitz may have his own unique rocker style but were getting bored of it at this point in her older years. That is why we are dubbing Lenny the worst dressed male. The draping, slouchy leather vest and fitted leather pants is just too much. Clearly those sunglasses are stunting his vision because there is no way leather or leather is ever a fashion forward choice!
And then there was Gaga
Lady Gaga always seems to shock us with her red carpet looks. First she offended vegetarians around the world with her meat attire and this year she arrives in an egg that she calls ‘incubation’! Gaga’s stylist said, “Lady gaga is in incubation, and will not be born until her performance for the Grammy’s”. Without a doubt Lady Gaga took home the award for strangest entrance/outfit we have seen yet.
