Gerard Butler stars as Mike Banning, who gets a chance at redemption when the White House is captured by terrorists.

American Presidents are always pursing terrorists, so as one can imagine it’s quite an interesting U-turn when terrorists turn the tables and go after presidents.

Olympus Has Fallen is the new film from director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Shooter, King Arthur), starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman alongside Aaron Eckhart and an well rounded supporting cast, including Angela Bassett, Dylan McDermott, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd, Radha Mitchell, Cole Hauser, Rick Yune and Robert Forster.

Gerard Butler takes the leading role as Mike Banning, a Secret Service office who takes a leave of absence following a serious mishap that resulted in the death of the President’s wife portrayed by Ashley Judd.

Years later, the President (played by Eckhart) and his several of his government members are taken hostage by North Korean terrorists in the White House and Mike is forced back into action to rescue them. Morgan Freeman stars as the Speaker who subsequently has to taks over as acting President during the siege.

Olympus Has Fallen blows up into cinemas on April 19.
