1Xtra Live 2020 will be a digital interactive experience hosted by the 1Xtra DJ family, with all new performances streamed online via the 1Xtra website. Audiences will need to create a BBC account in order to host their own virtual rooms remotely, where they can watch, share and engage with their friends, bringing all the vibes of 1Xtra Live 2020 to the comfort of their own homes. One track from each new set will also be simulcast live on BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio 1 on Saturday 17th October between 7 – 11 pm, followed by the 1Xtra Live 2020 After Party from 11 pm-1 am.

10 years on from his breakthrough single, one of dancehalls greatest innovators joins the line-up for 1Xtra Live this year. In his decade in dancehall Popcaan has cultivated a huge following of famous fans including Drake (who he has collaborated with many times), Snoop Dogg, Pusha T and Kanye to name just a few.

Shout out BBC Radio 1Xtra for including us on this sick line-up. It’s going to be a mad vibe, can’t wait to do something special for our fans. Young T & Bugsey

The East London MC is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Grime having come up in the same scene as artists such as Wretch 32, Giggs and Kano. He released a series of genre-defining mixtapes before gaining mainstream success with the release of his debut album Rebel With a Cause. This year has seen Ghetts release new music and there are rumours that a full album may be on the way.
Even though they are only in their early twenties, sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey have wasted no time in making their mark. Since being discovered by the actual Beyoncé after posting cover songs on YouTube they have released multiple EPs and albums to critical acclaim and Grammy nominations.

As well as new bespoke performances and interviews, 1Xtra Live 2020 will also be reliving some of the most iconic sets from over the past 12 years for fans to enjoy on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds.
