5 reasons to stay at the Princesa Yaiza suite hotel resort in Lanzarote

Looking for a romantic couples getaway? A trip for the girls or the lads or even a family holiday? Then look no further than the 5 star Princesa Yaiza luxury suite hotel resort in Lanzarote.

At Flavourmag we were lucky enough to stay at the Princesa Yaiza during a romantic couples getaway in Lanzarote. Only 4 and half hours flight and generously hot/warm temperatures all year round. Lanzarote is the place to be, if you can’t fly 8-10 hours in search of tropical weather.

The Princesa Yaiza is immense in size, it can feel a tad daunting or fun (depending on your mood) at first navigating your way around the hotel. The bars, the stairways, the pathways, the pool, and the tunnel that leads to the family side of the hotel will get your knickers in a twist at first, but after a couples of times, you will get to know the venue and enjoy the little strolls back and fourth along the hotel.

The family area is conveniently located separately (via underground tunnel with large fish tanks en route) from the rest of the hotel. This means that if you’re on a romantic couples getaway, you need not worry about screaming children all day long. This is a really nice touch as the kids have a whole themed hotel to themselves while the adults too have their own hotel.

NEWSFLASH: Special Honeymoon, from €251.20 /£183* per room per night (minimum stay 7 nights) includes:

Here’s 5 reasons to stay at the Princesa Yaiza

1. Location and 5 star quality

The Princesa Yaiza is a 5 star luxury suite hotel resort situated within a 25 mins drive from the airport and located in Playa Blanca, Las Palmas. Exit the hotel from the rear and POW the beach is right in front of you, ready for you to soak up the glorious sun if you decide not to lounge around the pool while drinking your favourite cocktails.

Free breakfast is served in 1 of 3 buffet restaurants; 4 other restaurants offer sushi, tapas and Mediterranean fare. There are 3 bars — casual, chic and poolside — and 2 outdoor pools, 1 in the kids’ play area.

2. The rooms

Probably one of the best features of the Princesa Yaiza is the rooms. The Princesa Yaiza has 12 different type of rooms that can be booked. Everything from the Presidential or Royal Suites to the double, family or junior suites. They also offer suites for disabled guests that have been adapted to enable mobility in all its areas for guests using wheelchairs or guests with hearing damage.

We had a look at some of the different style of room and to be completely honest with you, even the so called lower costing rooms where top notch. We are not saying that the least inexpensive rooms are as amazing as the most expensive rooms, however ALL the rooms in this resort are 5 star and we could barely see the difference in some of the rooms apart from size. Meaning no matter what room you stay in, you will be comfortable and living in luxury.

3. Yum, the Food

The Princesa Yaiza boasts 5 a la carte restaurants Gourmet Isla de lobos, Japanese Kampai, Italian Don Giovanni, Chiringuito and +Tapas as well as 3 buffet restaurants. Simply choose which restaurant you would like to dine in and book yourself a fancy meal. We dined at the Kampai Japanese restaurant, with its Teppanyaki tables and chef. The starters where huge, so much so that we couldn’t even finish them in fear of being too full for the mains.

Our chef flipped everything from eggs to noodles, shrimp to lobster and of course, lit a very cool fire on the iron cooking plate in front of the guests surrounding the table.

4. Sit back and relax.

The Princesa Yaiza also boasts a Thalasso and Spa Centre, located on Playa Dorada seafront, which has 50 booths for facial treatments, massages, hydrotherapy, and rituals for relaxation and well-being. We opted for the Honeymoon bath along with the relaxing 45 ́massage with Jasmin Flower.

Perfect for a romantic couples getaway, and what’s great about the Princesa Yaiza is that they offer a wide range of beauty, massage and spa treatments including the family spa experience, meaning no-one get’s left out at this resort. Our couples massage, was romantically lit, ambient and calming and we spent some extra time around the Thalasso circuit.

5. The facilities and entertainment.

As mentioned earlier the Princesa Yaiza has 3 bars — casual, chic and poolside. The Lobby bar Mararia is a cosy spot to enjoy your favourite drink while you talk to your partner or friends, or just enjoy the spectacular sea views that this terrace offers, plus the cocktail and music bar 4 Lunas which is the ideal spot to order one of the bar’s own cocktails and enjoy live performances by artists playing a wide variety of styles. The Saloon Mency and the Papaya Fruit Bar right next to the pool area as well as 2 kids play bars.
