East London’s waterfront destination drops a four-month season of world-class sport, electronic music festivals, free swimming and open-air culture running through to September.
East London’s Royal Docks has just dropped its most ambitious summer programme yet. At the Docks 2026 runs from now through to 13 September, packing in over 150 events across the historic waterfront—from heavyweight electronic music showcases to free lido swimming, elite sport and outdoor theatre. It’s a full-throttle celebration of what this stretch of water is becoming: one of the city’s premier waterside hangouts.
Free swimming and world-class sport
At the heart of the season is Summer Splash, running 24 July to 17 August. The Docks transform into a free urban oasis with a fully lifeguarded lido, sandpits, deckchairs and kids’ activities—tens of thousands flock here annually, and it’s designed to give local communities and those without private outdoor space somewhere safe to hit the water. On the sporting front, expect the T100 Triathlon on 25–26 July, Formula E London E-Prix on 15–16 August, and The North Face Climbing Festival on 17–18 July—a free two-day climbing celebration with live DJs, film screenings and competitions.
Silverworks Island brings the heavy hitters
The real headline-grabber is the electronic music series at Silverworks Island, the three-stage venue on the water. Things kick off with Anyma presents ÆDEN on 27–28 June, fresh from its Coachella debut—a boundary-pushing audio-visual spectacle that’s already got people talking. Then it’s Above & Beyond on 3 July for a hometown show, WAH in the City on 5 July for the UK’s biggest drum and bass takeover, Tiësto on 10 July, and Fisher closing out the run on 11 July. Expect world-class staging, next-level production and waterfront bars with skyline views that don’t quit.
Ensemble Festival also returns in July with a free two-day celebration of circus, dance and theatre, while The Cause heats up its open-air terrace with day parties spanning melodic house to heavy bass. And looking ahead, Ironworks will launch in October—a major new nightlife venue bringing large-scale events to the waterfront’s industrial setting.
