Bloc is back for one night only. The cult electronic institution is marking 20 years with a reunion at The Cause on 6 March 2027, and the first wave of names has landed.
Some names still make a certain kind of raver sit up, and Bloc is one of them. Twenty years on, the party is getting back together for one night only. Bloc’s 20th anniversary reunion takes place on 6th March 2027 at The Cause, and the first wave of artists reads like the best bits of two decades of the brand, all on one bill.
The first wave
In proper Bloc style, the opening announcement pulls together some of the most iconic artists to have played over the years. Leading the charge is Jeff Mills, the Wizard himself, a byword for relentless, cosmic techno. Alongside him is British Murder Boys, whose bruising, industrial-edged sound has always felt right at home in a Bloc crowd. Leftfield bring the kind of big-room heritage that crosses generations, and electro pioneer Egyptian Lover adds a shot of 808 swagger.
The depth doesn’t stop at the headliners. Tama Sumo & Lakuti are on board with their joyous, deep and dancefloor-first selections. DJ Storm goes b2b with Tasha, which should please the jungle and drum & bass crowd, and Dutch hardcore and techno trailblazer Miss Djax completes a line-up that’s very hard to argue with.
And that’s only the start. More names are still to come, so expect the bill to keep growing.
Why this one matters
Anniversary shows can feel like a victory lap, but this line-up looks more like a statement of intent: techno royalty, electro originators, hardcore heroes and jungle selectors all under one roof. That range is exactly what earned Bloc its reputation. Putting it in a warehouse-style space like The Cause, rather than a polished arena, feels like the right call for a crowd that’s been loyal for 20 years.
What we don’t know yet
Ticket prices and on-sale details haven’t been confirmed so far, and organisers say official artwork and more information will follow the launch. Given how quickly the Bloc faithful are likely to move, it’s worth staying alert.
If you were there back in the day, or you’ve spent years hearing stories from people who were, put 6th March 2027 in the diary now. Keep an eye on Bloc’s official channels for the ticket drop and the next wave of artists. This is one reunion you’ll want to be in the room for.
