Prog rock, classical and early punk band ‘Janus’ have recently released their brand new album ‘Phoenix’ under their new label ‘JanusUK’.

The label was was born at the end of a contract with EMI records when the band wanted to release their latest album with the sound and style that has evolved over nearly five decades and achieved numerous hits.

After forming 45 years ago in 1971, the band describe themselves as ‘a bizarre combination of prog rock, early punk, and classical, with a pinch of flamenco.’ ‘Janus’ have experienced a very successful career, with the majority of their fans concentrated in Germany and Holland. They were described as ‘the German version of Pink Floyd.’

The band have now joined forces with one of the worlds leading classical tenors ‘Paul Phoenix’ in order to create this album, which was written by band member Colin Orr himself. With contributions from leading Jazz saxophonist Dean Houston throughout, ‘Phoenix’ has a gripping edge, where East meets West, and rock meets classical.

More information about the band and their brand new release ‘Phoenix’ can be found on their official website.
