The modern bathroom comes with a lot of elements, and many of us now consider our bathrooms to be more than just places where we can take a bath or shower and perform hygienic functions.

The bathroom is definitely one of the most important rooms in the home, and if you want to make your bathroom a haven of luxury and comfort, it’s easier to do so today. But if you’re thinking of transforming your bathroom, it also pays to know what’s in when it comes to bathroom trends so you can take advantage of them as well. So what are the bathroom trends to watch out for in 2020? Let’s find out.

Brass finishes

A luxurious, stylish bathroom is certainly pleasing to the eye, and there’s nothing quite like showing off how luxurious and stylish your bathroom is than with the use of brass finishes. Brass finishes for your taps and other bathroom elements and furniture can add that warm, elegant appeal you’ve been aiming for, and it needn’t cost a lot, either. Here’s a tip: if you want to add instant glam to your bathroom and make it look as good as new without too much effort, change the fixtures. This makes a big difference.

Better lighting

If you want to make a definite statement in your bathroom, pay attention to the lighting you use. A single bulb or fixture in the middle of the ceiling no longer does it for most of us, but especially for those who spend a lot of time grooming and styling themselves in their bathroom. Integrated bathroom lighting is a brilliant thing, and you can do this with LED fixtures that are long-lasting as well. If it’s not easy to integrate lighting into your bathroom elements and bathroom furniture, you can simply add more lights with a few wall sconces (sconces on either side of your bathroom mirror are always a good choice), a few downlights or recessed lights in the corners, and even a lamp on a small table – you can’t go wrong with more lighting for your bathroom as long as you do it right.

Deep baths

One other way you can immediately transform your bathroom is to install a new bath. Of course, this may take a bit of effort, but it’s more than worth it. Who doesn’t want to luxuriate in a new bath? And if you want to make it even more special, you can go for a deep bath – one where you can soak in the best comfort for a long time indeed. One other bathroom trend that’s worth noting is the use of deep baths in combination with Art Deco themes – the perfect mix between classic and trendy.

Travertine tiles

Another fantastic trend in bathrooms nowadays is the use of travertine tiles. Travertine is an excellent material for any bathroom, and more homeowners are leaning towards warmer, more welcoming hues which only natural stone can give. Say goodbye to sterile-looking bathrooms with plain white tiles – a bathroom with natural stone such as limestone and travertine looks stunning and welcoming at the same time, and the warm, neutral tones of natural stone go very well with the stark white of a toilet and bath as well.
