With music, arts, films and fun, the first major event to hit the banks of the Royal Docks is techno music festival Bloc Weekend.
Running for 6 years the Bloc Party 2012 returns and it is safe to say that once again it’s going to be a special event-the line up is huge in number and of course calibre. This year sees the big bad Snoop Dogg, the mercurially enigmatic Flying Lotus, the massive Orbital and of course the genre changing Steve Reich headlining.
It’s a mammoth Bloc in every sense of the word (check out this video footage) and it will be staged inside the warship Stubnitz (check the last leg of her tour) specially brought in for the Bloc party from Germany-indeed the setting is just built for a battle of epic proportions; explosive visuals, nuclear like bass and of course dj’s mixing up the tempo to biblical proportions!
