Divine Unity at Charlotte Street Blues

Divine-Unity-1

Young, sassy and soulful are the words to describe girl group Divine Unity. Vibrant in every sense of the word, Sasha, Sharlene and Martina have brought their eclectic mix of pop and soul to the Charlotte Street Blues bar, for an 8 week stint. Their set is a mixture of self penned songs and covers, all delivered with a subtle gospel undertone and bags of spirit.

The set starts with the group’s original songs such as Eagle’s Fly, Free and Truthfully which are delivered with perfect harmonies and an exuberant sound. The girls continue their set with inspirational covers such as One Love and Something Inside So Strong. However, their original songs are by far their forte and their track Devil is a Liar is a gem. It’s a catchy and distinctive rock anthem which called for an encore and rocked the bar to its core.

Although the trio have an extremely diverse sound, they manage to unify it through the fact that each song has been born out of real life experiences. They emit positivity and warmth throughout their set, adding a feel good factor which remains long after their last song. Divine Unity are a soulful, talented trio who have a very exciting future ahead of them.
