Quadruple platinum selling singer Ed Sheeran was the surprise guest at Nando’s GigNics in Haggerston Park on Saturday (June 9) as over 2,000 people gathered to see performances by Rizzle Kicks, Stooshe and Cover Drive.

Hosted by Jameela Jamil, the likes of JLS, Little Mix and Towie’s Lydia Bright were also in the audience.

Even though there was over an hours wait for the queue to get food from the Nando’s kiosk, as the sun shone brightly and the stars entertained on the stage the time seemed to fly by before we managed to get our meals.

Ed Sheeran’s acoustic performance wowed the audience at the Nando’s ‘gig meets PERi-PERi picnic’ and when Rizzle Kicks jumped on stage with him to perform ‘You Need Me’, the audience erupted! The duo also performed their hits ‘Down with the Trumpets’ and ‘Mama do the Hump’, while Stooshe kept the crowd ecstatic with their latest hit ‘Black Heart’.

Music group Cover Drive heated things up with their number one hit ‘Twilight’ as well as performing ‘Sparks’.

GigNics will visit Leeds on 16th June, which will feature BGT’s, The Lovable Rogues and King Charles. Glasgow will be the final stop on 23rd June where Yasmin, Lonsdale Boys and Josh Osho will end the GigNics trip.
