Elli Jamison Releases Honest and Raw Folk Album ‘This Time Around’

Like any true folk artist, Ellie Jamison sings about what she knows. She writes music that is honest and raw, which is why it connects with people, and her new track ‘Effortless’ from forthcoming album ‘This Time Around’ is a beautiful exploration of relationships and intimacy.

The accompanying film clip is as honest and raw as the song, and harks back to folk artists such as Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, but with a modern production and sense of urgency that feels current and meaningful today.

Ellie has definitely had an interesting life filled with experiences that range from growing up in a hippy commune at age 15, to traveling with a circus, schooling in France, a period of homelessness after running away to England and many other stories that form her world. Her music is delicately structured and interesting, with many layers connecting to form a conclusive arrangement. Ellie’s strong yet feminine voice is the perfect accompaniment to the soothing folk sounds and soars above her arrangements, speaking volumes with lyrics that articulate an interesting inner world.

Ellie Jamison has toured extensively, been featured online, played on radio and is about to embark on an album tour in March of 2016. She explains that

“Writing songs and music organises life in a way that makes it possible to survive and thrive. Like food or water, I don’t function well without it.”

The music video for ‘Effortless’ focuses on beautiful scenery in what looks to be an English park, and simply films conversations between people. The result is a warm and honest portrayal of human behaviour and relationships.

Ellie’s album was produced by Amy Wadge (co-writer for Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and will be released on the 1st March, 2016.
