Tuesday February 12th was the first Flavourmag Live event of 2013! US singing sensation Dawn Richards (Diddy Dirty Money and Danity Kane) headlined the event, alongside multi-instrumentalist Natty, Shanay Holmes (The Bodyguard Musical), Sam Garrett, Danica Hunter, J Sol and X-Factor stars The Risk and Times Red. The event was held at The Purple Turtle music venue in Camden, which had a great chilled out vibe and funky décor.

Luke from Times Red was the presenter on the night and he brought along his great sense of humour and bags of Essex charm! The evening kicked off with Danica Hunter, the 19 year old singer and song-writer wowed the crowd with her powerful singing voice. Next up was Times Red, the cheeky chappies performed covers of ‘Aint No Sunshine’, ‘Let’s Get It Started’, they also performed their single ‘Patience’ and brand new single ‘Just No Good For Me’. Brit School Graduate J Sol performed his tracks ‘Treat Her Like A Lady’ and ‘Alien’, he also did a great cover of ‘Stay’ by Rihanna.

Sam Garrett who got the room moving with his distinctive voice, sang his songs ‘The River’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Stand My Ground’ followed by The Risk with their track ‘Missiles’ and a great cover of ‘End Of The Road’ which had all the couples slow dancing! The beautiful Shanay Holmes performed her hits ‘Let It Show’ and ‘Worth the Wait’, followed by the headlining act Dawn Richards, who had all the guys (and girls) attention when she stormed on stage belting out her hit songs ‘Faith’, ‘Bombs’ and ’86’. Last, but by no means least was Natty who performed ‘Gaia’ and ‘Bedroom Eyes’.

The night was a huge success and fans got to see their favourite acts perform in a chilled out environment. The acts also did a Flavourmag Live Hangout on air before they went on stage, so check it out! Take a look at the gallery of pictures on the night and don’t miss the next Flavourmag Live on Friday 8th March make sure you put that date in your diary!
