FREE Event! YACnCAY Upfront

YACnCAY Upfront is an inspiringly creative FREE event, taking place at the Newham Town Hall on Saturday May 26th 2012, aimed at young people in celebration of their achievements and to highlight the need to reduce crime in London.

Hundreds of guests will attend this free event to enjoy live music, comedy, fashion, traditional African dance and workshops run by the Metropolitan Police. The Youth Against Crime NOT Crime Against You (YACnCAY) is a charity initiative which launched in 2010 to help reduce gun and knife crime in London.

Former MTV and Choice FM presenter Kat Boyce will host the event alongside Eastenders actress Bunmi Mojekwu (she played teenager Mercy Olubunmi) and will introduce a range of great entertainment and motivational talks. Former US inmate turned author Shawn Attwood and Richard Taylor OBE (The Damilola Taylor Trust) are just a few of special appearances to expect on the day. The FREE event will also see great live music performances from a mix of artists, a special fashion show and the Orimolade Dance Troupe will be live on stage performing their traditional african moves.

YACnCAY Upfront impressively have the active support of the Metropolitan Police who will be running practical workshops during what will be an ecletic and inspirational FREE event for anyone who values the need to reduce crime in London.

Live performances: ASB, Khalaeliah, Sharon Rose, 4 Seasons Band, Aylwin Steele & the Zealots, Orimolade Dance Troupe and BREIS.
Workshops: Metropolitan Police
Motivational Speakers: Shaun Attwood, Lola Owolabi, Elisha Aurelien, Martin Birchall, Shaun Bailey and Richard Taylor OBE.
There will also be a special YACnCAY Upfront fashion show.

Time: Doors will open at 2pm. The event will commence at 3pm, closing at 9pm.
