Get The Natural Look: Makeup Review

Get The Natural Look: Makeup Review. This week I am reviewing some products for a more toned down natural look. Quick and easy, it’ll perk you up with out looking “made up”.

First things first: Brows. These have been a big thing for a while, whether they are thick, overly defined, or the Cara Delevingne type. I tried  Wunder2 WonderBrow (£19.95). This is a brow gel pact with tiny little fibers to top up any sparse patches in the eyebrows. I tried this out and on first look, the product looks super wet and gloopy. I thought; do I really want to spread this on my face? In the name of good research I must. It was a bit fiddly to apply as the brush doesn’t allow for precision which I think is a big down side. When I first used this I made a big mess, I looked as if I just smudged mud into my brows. On my second attempt I used an eyebrow stencil as a guide and applied WunderBrow, the result was much better; defined, fuller, the fibers filled in my gappy brows. This product says it can last for days, I initially thought no way! Not Possible! Then I realised that the WunderBrow sets really well. So no matter if you sweat all night at a club this will stay put and each hair will stay in place too. This is quite a good product, but a bit fiddly I would give it 3/5 stars.Next up! Park ave Princess by Tarte cosmetics (£29.50). This is a simple little compact that has all you need to create the perfect cheek.  Contour that doesn’t make you look orange or as if you got a bloody big bruise across the face, always a good thing! Plus a rosey pink blusher to bring out the apples of the cheeks, however this blush could be stronger and more pigmented, as it’s pretty light, but it’s a nice shade anyhow. Last but not by any means least a pale gold highlight. I used this everywhere, tops of my cheekbones for head, down my nose, color bone. I love this highlight it’s exactly the right shade. I would give this 4.5/5 stars

Now for the lips. I tried the silky smooth lipgloss from Zuzka (£14.99). These are a natural and organic product. I really like the fact it’s got the whole natural thing going for it. Made from organic oils and waxes, it makes the texture feel creamy and nourishing.  With 14 shades to choose from my favorite is Hot pink. It’s not a bright colour it’s a very rosey natural shade of pink, great for the day. This is a lipgloss so it doesn’t last as long, which is the main draw back. However the colours pretty and the texture is dreamy. I would give it a 3/5 stars

BPerfect Cosmetic Mineral Foundation  (£19.99). I am absolutely in love with this. They are comparing it to the famous Ben Nye Banana Powder. I gave this bad boy a go and jeez my dark circles were gone instantly. I looked awake my eye’s even looked higher up? If that makes any sense, I guess my bags were no longer dragging down my eye’s anymore. This is a powder mineral product. It can be used as a foundation as well; cover all the imperfections or as a concealer/highlighter which is the route I preferred; under the eyes, down the nose, and above the top lip. This is a matte finish, so doesn’t add a highlight shimmer, but instantly brightens and lifts the face. Gone are my sallow tones, bring on the brightness. I give the 5/5 Stars

At the end of the day many of us reach for a facial wipe to remove all the make-up and pollution from skin, enter Yes to Cucumber Facial Wipes (£3.99). I have super sensitive skin and I have tried many different brands. The things I look for in my facial wipes are: Something mild that my skin wont react too (Obvs!), a very very wet wipe, and for the fabric to be soft. This ticks all my boxes. These wipes are soothing and hypoallergenic, as well as detoxifying and rejuvenating.  They are also biodegradable, which is a big plus as so many aren’t. Only down side I think they are quite pricey, although I do think they are still a good buy especially as you get 30 in a pack. I have actually already bought two more packets from boots (they are on offer at the moment), that’s how much I love them. Deducting half a point for the price, otherwise a well deserved 4.5/5 Stars

That concludes my weekly round up.

Stay tuned for more tips, tricks, how-to’s, and reviews.
