David Hasselhoff will wave the start flag at 11 am on Sunday 5th August in Covent Garden to set drivers off on the first leg of their eccentric adventure – over the following 6 days the route incorporates a scenic and spectacular drive across Europe, stopping off at the spectacular chateau in Chantilly (France), before navigating the Swiss Alps and onward to Milan (Italy), before all 100 cars and 250 drivers are flown from Bologna to Osaka (Japan), to continue on the road trip across Kyoto, Nanao and Mount Fuji to cross the finish line in Tokyo on Saturday 11th August.

Drivers will experience an ultra-exclusive VIP opening ceremony at Asprey on Bond Street followed by the official launch party at Proud Embankment, the illustrious official nightclub partner, with a festivalesque music line up from the above artists.

For those wanting to get involved right away, the Gumball 3000 car grid is live, letting fans nominate and donate to their favourite team and car. The team that raises the most money will start from pole position, with the money raised going to charity. gumball3000foundation.org/grid
