I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss: New Video Starring Beyoncé Encourages Girls To Be Leaders

What do Beyoncé, Diane von Furstenberg, Jennifer Garner and Condoleezza Rice all have in common?

They are, without a doubt, total lady-bosses, and they’re inspiring young girls to become driven women, too.

The vocal feminists appeared in a PSA for Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In foundation, admonishing the use of the word “bossy.”

Sandberg argues that it’s a negative synonym for “determined” or “ambitious” frequently applied to young women, which discourages them from pursuing leadership roles.

Beyonce, 32, also noted that by middle school, “girls are less interested in leadership than boys,” because they are afraid of being labeled.
“Let’s just ban the word bossy!” designer Diane Von Furstenberg proclaimed.

Beyonce continued to support girls, saying, “Be brave, be you. I’m not bossy, I’m the boss.”
