Matt Katsis launched his latest EP ‘The Burke & Wills Sessions’ in early 2016 at Melbourne’s iconic Federation Square.

After great response following its release, Matt is due to deliver a second EP mid 2017, touring its first single ‘Need You Here’ this November/ December.

Having just returned from New Zealand, Matt’s dedicated work and show ethic has seen the Melbourne Bluesman and Folk Balladeer play over 100 shows this past year. Currently touring the single in his 1985 Toyota Hiace Campervan, ‘Sunny’, Matt will ring in the New Year at the “Tanglewood Music & Arts Festival”, Thornton,VIC.

Matt revisited the original live acoustic recording for ‘Need You Here’, after travelling through the US and spending time in Nashville. The Americana/Alt Country influence is definitely something he has brought back with him, adding the comforting feeling of ‘being home’.

Matt says,

The bare bones of the song and lyrics came about in reflection; it’s about wising up as we get older having that special someone by your side through thick and thin to share life’s experiences”.

The ‘Need You Here’ film clip unfurls footage captured during Matt’s time travelling through California, Arizona and Utah back in 2014. Edited together by Graeme Passmore alongside filming, set around Byron Bay.

Those who have seen Matt live will recall his raw vocal and command of the acoustic guitar. Matched with a one-man-band approach to his performances through the use of stomp box, tambourine and creating loop layers – these elements together have become the lifeblood of Matt Katsis’ live sound.
