To celebrate the upcoming release of “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”, which took Sundance by storm earlier this year and hits UK cinemas on 4 September, Fox Searchlight Pictures has launched a competition to challenge fans’ own filmmaking skills… with socks!
ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL is a uniquely funny and moving story about Greg, a high school senior who avoids deep human relationships as a way to safely navigate the social mine field that is teenage life. In fact he describes his best friend Earl, with whom he makes short-film parodies of classic movies, as being ‘more like a co-worker’. But when Greg’s mum insists he spends time with Rachel – a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with cancer- Greg discovers just how powerful and important true friendship can be.
Fox Searchlight Pictures is offering the grand prize winner a trip for two (with spending money) to LA, while second place wins a luxury weekend stay in London, and third place an iPad Air 2.

1) Record a funny/creative video with sock puppets on your phone
2) Upload your video to Vine, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube
3) Post your video via Twitter or Instagram using #SockPuppetMovie and #MeandEarl to register your entry
