How’s it going mixtape fans, for this months post we’re getting a bit genre specific with our UK Rap special! UK Rap or ‘Road Rap’ has been doing it big over the last couple years in the UK and with the likes of K-Koke, Giggs & Blade it looks like its stepping up to become a global genre.

On DAM UK Rap is quickly becoming one of the most popular genres on the site and we’ve picked out a few mixtapes that have been making some noise this month as well as a couple classics to let you know why.

First off we have to put forward South London’s Blade Brown, who’s new mixtape Best Of Blade 2 in just a few short days has become the 6th most listened to UK Rap mixtape on the site since the site began. Blade also has priors with his collab mixtape with Fem Fel being the 3rd most listened to. The new mixtape is a warm up for the upcoming Bags & Boxes 2 which is highly anticipated

Next up is J Spades mixtape ‘More Money, More Pagans’ which has also managed to get in to the UK Rap most listened to of all time, at number 9. The Hackney spitter has already got clothing out that features the mixtapes title, which shows how quickly its become so popular

I told you it was a big month for UK Rap and that continues with Haze’s effort ‘Loyalty, Honor, Respect’. This is more of an album than a mixtape and has some quality features throughout, including the already mentioned Blade & J Spades on the same track. As well as that theres verses from Swiss, Lowkey, Sway, G Frsh and pretty the rest of the cream of the UK Rap scene.

Duo Adz & Shallow share the story of their struggle in this new mixtape entitled P.A.I.N which stands for Pain Around It’s Negativity. Big buzz around these two and have also clocked up a lot of listens over the last couple of weeks for this effort.

Thats not all that was dropped this month check out the UK Hip-Hop section on DAM for more including new stuff from Fem Fel, Genesis Elijah, Gilly, D Millz & Merkz Mula and much much more – http://www.downloadamixtape.com/?page_id=200&genre_id=34

Now time for the classics, we had to include Giggs in this, not only because ‘Best Of Giggs 3’ mixtape is the most listened to UK Hip-Hop mixtape and 2nd in all genres on DAM, but also because Giggs was one of the pioneers that really broke UK Rap through from the underground. The second classic is K-Koke’s ‘Pure Koke Vol.1’, Koke has been making serious moves stateside having been signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation a lot of doors are opening for the Stonebridge rapper-

OK so thats it for now, keep checking DAM for more updates and new mixtapes uploaded everyday. This coming month we’re expecting big releases from Chip and Wretch 32, so remember to DAM it!!!
