NO GOOD DEED

Terri (Taraji P. Henson) is a devoted wife and mother of two, living an ideal suburban life in Atlanta when Colin (Idris Elba), a charming but dangerous escaped convict, shows up at her door claiming car trouble. Terri offers her phone to help him but soon learns that no good deed goes unpunished as she finds herself fighting for survival when he invades her home and terrorizes her family.

The script is extremely limited and nothing we haven’t witnessed before, saying that its plus point is its message of female empowerment when we witness Henson kick the incredible Elba’s ass. However good a psycho Elba is in this film I’m afraid it’s just dull dull dull.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKING JAY PART 1

Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) finds herself in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.

Full of high octane action scenes, a stellar all cast performance, Especially from Lawrence who quite basically is the glue that holds this together. It doesn’t quite hit the spot of the 1st two films in this franchise; it’s just one big major tease to keep you hooked for the final instalment. I would say it’s beyond me why they needed to split the last part of this story into two films but that’s Hollywood for you, wanting to milk you out of your hard earned money for as long as possible.
