DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Caeser is back and this time he comes mob handed. Leading a growing nation of genetically evolved apes they try and live side by side in peace with a group of humans who have survived the devastating virus that was unreleased 10 years ago. The peace between the two species is short-lived as both sides are brought to the verge of all out war. The question is who will win this battle to become Earth’s dominant species?

We’ve waited way to long for the sequel to the Rise of The Planet of The Apes, but I’m guessing the wait has been WELL worth it. Seeing a return to character for the under-rated awesome British actor, Andy Serkis as Caeser and throwing in the pretty decent acting of Gary Oldman added alongside to the storytelling, visual effects and intelligence this is going to be one sequel that turns out to be pretty EPIC.

SUPERMENCH: THE LEGEND OF SHEP GORDON

Mike Myers (Wayne’s World, Austin Powers) takes to the director’s chair to bring you this documentary documenting the astounding career of Hollywood insider, the loveable Shep Gordon, who fell into music management by chance after moving to LA straight out of college, and befriending Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix. Shep managed rock stars such as Pink Floyd, Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass and Alice Cooper, and later went on to manage chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, ushering in the era of celebrity chefs on television.

Stuffed with fantastic archive footage the film traces Shep’s transformation from the 1970’s hedonist to today’s practicing Buddhist yearning for a family of his own, this promises to be an intriguing, entertaining and light hearted fluffy insight into the secret world of all things Hollywood.

PUDSEY THE DOG: THE MOVIE

Following the cheeky London stray dog, Pudsey, who is quite happy being a lone ranger, looking out for number one, until he meets siblings Molly, George and Tommy. After losing their father, their mother Gail is moving the family to the sleepy village of Chuffington and Pudsey tags along, to the dismay of their landlord, Mr. Thorne, and his cat Faustus. As Pudsey starts to settle in with the family and realize what he was missing when he was alone, he stumbles across Thorne’s evil plan and he determines to save them and the whole village.

A heartwarming, typically British adventure for all the family, I don’t normally do cutesy animal films but with a cast of David Walliams, Olivia Coleman and John Sessions there certainly will be a few giggles to be appreciated by all the family. Think they sun has gone to my head a bit. Forgive me people.
