Prince Radio Ra Brings the NYC AfroPunk Hip Hop with release ‘Frenemies’ Inspired By Love Gone Wrong

Queens rapper Prince Radio Ra releases ‘Frenemies’, a music video inspired by a friend’s experience with love, domestic violence and the thin line that some experience between love and hate.

Prince Radio Ra is a rapper with a conscience, as he aims to bring domestic violence to the forefront of people’s minds with his new track ‘Frenemies’ and his upcoming release ‘L.O.V.E. (Loving on Violent Edge) which is set for release in the Spring of 2016.

After a close friend was struggling with a broken heart, Prince Radio Ra watched him spiral quickly downwards and become unable to eat, sleep or think rationally. Eventually this friend engaged in violent behaviour with his former partner and is now serving time in prison, an event which sparked the release ‘Frenemies’ and the discussion around domestic violence and how it can affect those involved. The accompanying music video includes footage of Queens, New York City and shows an insight into the world of Prince Radio Ra.

No stranger to New York’s hip hop scene, Prince Radio Ra’s style is typically ‘New York’, with AfroPunk sensibilities and big, brash NYC new school style. It’s in your face, loud, and commands attention, while addressing important social issues in an intelligent manner.

Previously published on StreetKodeMagazine.com, Indienation, Hype Magazine and Strawberryblunt.com, Prince Radio Ra has received nation-wide attention but remains true to his roots. In order to promote previous release ‘Rap Royalty’, he personally gave out the album to over 5000 people within his neighbourhood.

‘Frenemies’ is an engaging and important look at the issue of domestic violence within relationships, and is a strong start to what is expected to be an exciting release from Prince Radio Ra in 2016.
