Reading and Leeds Festival 2021 going ahead? The organisers seem to think so.

Reading and Leeds Festival

Less than 48 hours after Boris Johnson outlined the UK roadmap out of lockdown, the Reading and Leeds Festival tweeted LET’S GO!

Raising the hopes of fans and those desperate to go out, the tweet contains a video with the formerly mentioned Reading and Leeds Festival lineup and under the government’s plan, limits on social contact in England could be gone by 21 June, if Covid is under control.

Reading and Leeds Festival takes place from the 27th to 29th August 2021 and at this stage, it’s still unclear whether any Covid measures will be put in place for this summer’s event.

The original full lineup includes:

READING FRIDAY, LEEDS SATURDAY
Stormzy • Lewis Capaldi • Catfish & The Bottlemen • AJ Tracey • Mabel • Madison Beer • Ashnikko • MK • Gallows •  Sports Team

READING SATURDAY, LEEDS SUNDAY
Post Malone • Two Door Cinema Club • Disclosure • The Wombats • Doja Cat • Sigrid • Beabadoobee • Dababy • Solardo

READING SUNDAY, LEEDS FRIDAY
Liam Gallagher • Gerry Cinnamon • Queens of The Stone Age • Yungblud • Charli XCX • Neck Deep • Bad Boy Chiller Crew • Niko B • Girl In Red

Under the proposals, outdoor hospitality, including drive-in cinemas, could re-open as part of step two in April. Pilots of indoor live events, with social distancing, could also commence at the same time. Step three, which would start no earlier that 17 May, could allow limited indoor mixing. Indoor concerts would have a limit of 1,000 people or 50% of a venue’s maximum capacity. Outdoor concerts and sporting events would have an upper limit of 4,000 people – or 10,000 for seated events.

Whether or not the festival takes place this year is still unknown but tickets are ON SALE NOW. If this event goes ahead, will you be attending? Leave your comments below!!!
