Whether you’re visiting Cardiff for business or pleasure Sleeperz hotel is the perfect choice if you’re looking for somewhere to stay.

Having ventured to Wales for a staycation for a friend’s birthday, Sleeperz impressed before I’d even walked through the door as it was only 2 minutes away from Cardiff Central train station.

VITAL STATISTICS: This is a budget hotel with a stylish and modern look, bright designer touches, including a bar and quirky cabin rooms with bunk beds. There are 74 rooms  in total and 21 of those are queen bed rooms. With free internet access by either Wi-Fi or cable connection, plush leather finishes and chic wooden floors. The hotel makes an efficient use of space in the bedrooms which feel quite cosy, they contain a flat screen Sony Bravia TV with Freeview,  fair-trade tea and coffee making facilities, ensuite fully tiled wet rooms, with heated anti-steam mirrors and floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the train station or town. The rooms are very clean, but if you want to lounge about in bed or spend vast amounts of time in your room, you may find space an issue. It was fine for this trip as the majority of our time was spent dancing in the local night spots and shopping in the city centre. We also found the lounge area to be a great place to take pictures and selfies.

Sleeperz Hotels CardiffBREAKFAST: Book breakfast in advance for only £6.45, normal price £8.95. Select £6.45 breakfast option (non-refundable) when booking your stay. The breakfast wasn’t very fancy and there was only one juice drink option (orange), which I don’t like. I prefer Apple or Cranberry juice  but of course there were tea and coffee options and with a choice of a full cooked buffet, cereals, pastries, it was good enough to kick start the morning with.  They also have an all day menu that offers the chance for a quick snack or a main meal.

LOCATION REPORT: You’re literally minutes from everything in downtown Cardiff. The train station is next door. There are many of the local bars, restaurants and clubs across the street and Cardiff Castle is a 15 minute walk away. In fact there are 73 restaurants; 149 pubs, bars and nightclubs (18 on the waterfront); hundreds of shops including designer brands, high street names and local boutiques.

Cardiff possesses a striking mix of ultra modern and beautifully historic architecture; a national museum; bay side arts & crafts, live music, festivals; the skyline dominating Wales Millennium Centre theatre; the international 74,500 seat Millennium stadium and a whole lot more.

This is the best place to stay in Cardiff without a doubt!
