Uplifting fusion band ‘Rumjig’ have announced the release of their debut album ‘Rumjig’, featuring an entertaining blend of gypsy, funk, hip-hop, dub, reggae, jazz, latin, ska and blues.
Inspired by an eclectic mixture of artists such as Fat Freddie’s Drop, Erykah Badu, Santana and Gogol Bordello, their soul intention is to ‘uplift and ignite people’s lust for life’. Crowd funding a total of £5500 in just 55 days over Christmas of 2012, Rumjig’s debut album has been a labour of love working progress over the past three and a half years, and features punchy brass lines, swinging rhythms and bold vocal harmonies.
Ahead of their release on 2nd December, Rumjig will be performing at their album launch gig at The Magnet in Liverpool on 25th November. More details can be found on their official website or social media pages.
