As UK winners, Soul Mavericks will now go onto challenge the greatest B-Boy squads from around the world in a bid to win the coveted title of World Champions – taking place at Brixton Academy in October – after Endangered Species from the USA danced their way to glory at the 2009 World Final.

DJ Hooch, founder of the Sony Ericsson B-Boy Championships, said: “The level of talent and skill of some of the crews that competed at this year’s National qualifiers was mind blowing. With more B-Boys and B-Girls taking to the floor, I’d have to say this year’s Sony Ericsson B-Boy Championships is going to be the best yet. The World Championships also opens doors to aspiring breakers and with past contenders going onto perform on the world stage at events like the Oscars, winning is most definitely no mean feat.”

In keeping with the breakin’ beats, style and flair of B-Boy, members from the Nation’s winning crew each took home a brand new Sony Ericsson X10 handset worth £489.99 plus a whole host of other B-Boy goodies.
