Special coverage of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards

The always effortless beauty looked like a goddess in a floor length figure hugging Marchesa gown with sparkly overlay, delicate bodice and dramatic ruffled train. To finish off her look she kept hair and makeup fresh and minimalistic, but hey with bone structure like that who needs the old paint roller!

So walking the red carpet pregnant may not be the most comfortable situation for Natalie Portman but were sure she thought it was worth it after winning the Best Actress Oscar! This burgundy dress by Rodarte couldn’t be more appropriate as it complimented her growing bump gorgeously.

Mila Kunis opted for this season’s biggest trend, lace, for the Oscars this year. The actress stepped out of the box with an edgier look in this Elle Saab couture gown. The cut of the dress is romantic and pretty, which still looks sophisticated with Mila’s minimalistic jewellery and soft up do.

Hailee Steinfield looked absolutely adorable in this custom Marchesa dress that she helped design! The 14 year old starlet looks so age appropriate in this ballerina inspired cut with matching bun and head band.

Ay Mami! It’s hard to believe Penelope Cruz gave birth just a few weeks prior to her red carpet appearance at the Oscars. The Spanish beauty looked va-va-voom busty in this deep red dress with plunging neckline by by L’Wren Scott.

The Worst

At first glance when looking at Nicole Kidman we think, ‘Here comes the Bride?’ Poor Nicole couldn’t resist wearing white on white in this strapless Christian Dior gown. The skirt is super clunky and her up do is way to 1920’s prom queen stiff.

Something fishy? Gwyneth Paltrow looked less than perfect in this boxy, drop waist Calvin Klein gown that made her look completely shapeless. The fitted metallic number looked more like a fish in this fitted metallic number. Although, we do with Gwyn kudos for her Louis Vuitton bling and Brian Atwood heels (but still not enough to save her).

So we weren’t aware Sharon Stone auditioned for the comedy sequel to Black Swan this year? This black one shouldered Christian Dior gown definitely hugs her rocking bod in all the right places, but everything else is just way too much! Between those feathers, the big up do and the Disney Cruella Deville makeup, were slightly afraid of her.

So, Scarlett Johansson is still Lost in Translation? This raspberry Dolce & Gabbana lace gown with Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie bling looks matronly and boring. The visible bra is more street walker chic than red carpet ready. But we are loving the messy bob and flawless makeup.

Wow! Helena Bonham Carter looked nothing less than a catastrophe in this black Colleen Atwood draped gown. The velvet bustier and curly up do is just on par for the eccentric lady. She looks true to herself and gets a little cheeky with that union jack garter under her dress.
