This afternoon, the official Star Wars @starwars Instagram account released exclusive new footage from their upcoming film, The Force Awakens, using Instagram’s new landscape format.
Inspired by the new cinematic video format that helps showcase a long-awaited snippet of the film, the clip comes after Instagram announced today that — in addition to square posts — you can now share photos and videos in both portrait and landscape orientation on Instagram.
Square format has been and always will be part of who we are. That said, the visual story you’re trying to tell should always come first, and we want to make it simple and fun for you to share moments just the way you want to.
Instagram are especially excited about what these new format options will mean for video on Instagram and the @starwars reveal is an awesome example. This is the first video content to be showcased in this new format for the Instagram community:
