On Wednesday night celebrities and journalists made their way to One Embankment for Sony’s Xperia Access Live Party. The Thames-side shindig was to introduce Sony’s new flagship Smartphone the Xperia Z2. As-well as having hands on time with the new device the guests were treated to a stripped-back acoustic set from Sony Artist Katy B, whilst DJ/Presenter Jameela Jamil took to the decks to provide the soundtrack for the evening.

Those eager to get their hands on the new handset included Denise Van Outen, Professor Green, Jamie Laing, Jack Whitehall, Laura Mvula, Stooshe and A*M*E who were all in attendance. The center piece to the dance-floor was provided by an elaborate giant phone shaped ball-pond (yes really) which became more and more appealing after each cocktail, but it was Katy B who stole the show with an impressive medley of tracks including those of her most recent album ‘Little Red.’

As for the Xperia Z2 we were very impressed after spending 10/15 minutes exploring its features. The waterproof handset will undoubtedly be hugely popular for its compelling camera features which will keep you entertained for hours! The Time-shift video feature was one of my personal favourites – at the swipe of a finger you can slow down any moment and re-watch your clips in slow motion. Needless to say this provided many laughs when filming the slightly intoxicated party-goers launching themselves into the ball pond!

All in all it was a great night, launching a great new product!
