In an age of prefabricated pop stars, J. Appiah is a refreshing soul. The Hackney newcomers ability to combine lyricism with his really raw emotional electrical energy adds him to our ‘one to watch’ catalogue.
Taken from his debut E.P ‘tudiocoustic’, ‘I Ain’t Rich Yet’ speaks for itself. The lyrics certainly don’t have the same kind of explosive sounds that most artists exhibit nowadays, but in many ways he is a lot more efficient due to his simplicity.
