Baking, graffiti and kirigami making with The Dabble Sessions by first direct

meringue girls

first direct has joined forces with some of Britain’s best creative talent to offer a series of stunning workshops designed to get your new hobby or side-hustle on.

Come to The Dabble Sessions, a pop-up event to help you take your first steps in trying something new: super cool street art with the Graffiti Kings, mouth-watering meringue making  with fashion darlings the Meringue Girls, or the foldy, cutty craft of kirigami with Stars Wars director JJ Abrahams’ favourite scissor master, Paper Dandy.

first direct is putting on these new workshops to celebrate the success of its recently-launched switching promotion.  When people switch bank to first direct, they’re now offered non-cash gifts such as £150 Expedia vouchers to help broaden their horizons, or high-quality courses to help develop a new hobby or side-hustle.

Hosted by stand-up superstar and voice of TV smash Love Island, Iain Stirling, you’ll also be able to chat to Zoe Burns Shore from first direct.

Tickets for all workshops are offered at a price of £10, all of which will be donated to mental health charities Mind and SAMH.

Over 18s only.

The Meringue Girls – Meringue Kisses Workshop

Join the East-London baking duo (@meringuegirls), famous in the fashion industry for their ‘rainbow-tastic’ meringues, as they show you how to create their signature ‘Unicorn Kiss’ meringues. Followed by some Eton-mess making.

Psst… The Evening Standard called this one of the best workshops for foodies in the capital.

Graffiti Kings – Graffiti Workshop

Fancy yourself as a bit of a graffiti king or queen? Then you might want to join London street art scene royalty the Graffiti Kings (@graffitikings). Known for their impressive murals and live artwork installations, the Graffiti Kings will show you how to tag, spray and mark-up your canvas to create your very own piece of modern art.

The Paper Dandy – Kirigami Workshop

Dabbling with Origami, but can’t get into the swing of paper folding? Kirigami could be the answer.

Join leading Kirigami artist Marc Hagan-Guirey (@paperdandy) in an informal workshop showing you how to create your very own 3D piece of artwork from just a single piece of A4 paper. Have a go at creating the same work that Marc did to get Star Wars director JJ Abrahams on speed dial.
