The fantastic and loveable Nicholas Hoult was born and raised in the county of Berkshire before making his big debut to film in 1996 in Intimate Relations when he was just seven years old.  The real show stopper came when Nicholas made his big debut to film as the young Marcus Brewer in About A Boy in 2002 and the rest was history.

His new film the dark, satirical and hysterically funny Kill Your Friends is out now on Digital HD and out on Blu-ray and DVD 4th April and to celebrate we’re taking a look at his career so far.

About A Boy About a boy

In 2002 Nicholas landed his first major film role as Marcus Brewer in About A Boy, working alongside the charming Hugh Grant for which Nicholas’ was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Actor.

Skins

Skins Whilst still at Farnborough Sixth Form Nicholas hit the screens once again as he landed his major role as Tony Stonem in the E4 drama Skins becoming the heartthrob for thousands of teenagers across the UK. Nicholas was nominated for a Walkers Home Grown Talent Award for his role as Tony.

In the 2010 remake of Clash Of The Titans Nicholas played one of the main characters, Eusebios, one of the best soldiers of the Army of Argos and one of the main characters, Draco’s, best men. In 2010 Nicholas was also nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, voted by the British public. 

X Men: First Class / X Men: Days Of Future Past

Xmen Nicholas HoultIt only got better from there-on out as in 2011 Nicholas was cast as ‘Beast’ in the X Men spin off: X Men First Class and continuing this role to X Men: Days Of Future Past and X Men: Apocalypse, due for release later this year.

Nicholas played the hero in Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Slayer, cast as the main character Jack who accidentally opens a portal between his own realm and the realm of giants and re-starts an ancient war. Oops!

Mad Max: Fury Road

Set in post apocalyptic Australia, Nicholas plays Nux a member of Immortan Joe’s army of War Boys who allies himself with Max Rockastansky and Imperator Furiosa  who are rebelling against their tyrannical ruler and trying to get Furiosa’s homeland.

To add to Nicholas’ 2015 success he plays A&R man Steven Stelfox in Kill Your Friends. Stelfox is slashing and burning his way through the music business, a world where ‘no one knows anything’ and where careers are made and broken by chance and the fickle tastes of the general public. Fuelled by greed, ambition and inhuman quantities of drugs, Stelfox lives the dream, as he searches for his next hit record. But as the hits dry up and the industry begins to change, Stelfox takes the concept of “killer tunes” to a murderous new level in a desperate attempt to salvage his career.
