The UK’s ageing population

It’s no secret that the UK has an ageing population. From 1985 to 2010, the number of over 65s increased by 1.7 million.

Over the same period, the median age of UK residents has increased to 39.7, with predictions estimating it will rise to 42.2 by 2035.

But what is it like to be an older person living and working in the UK? Are there facilities to help the aged population integrate into the workplace effectively? We could look at aid such as stairlifts from thyssenkrupp as well as rails and specialist seating.

A visual created by bespoke stairlift provider, Ideal Stairlifts, has looked into the employment and pension options available to ageing populations around the world.
