As the year draws to a close, it’s only right that we take a look back at some of the juiciest showbiz moments of 2012. From sex tape shenanigans to alleged  love-affairs and premature deaths, this year was filled with drama. Here’s our pick of the five most memorable moments of 2012.

5. Rob Kardashian Vs Rita Ora

Roc Nation’s princess Rita Ora made our list just in time before the New Year for being the topic on everyone’s twitter timeline in early December for all the wrong reasons.  We all know the Kardashians love a good break up, so when  Rob allegedly exposed ex-girlfriend Rita as a love rat, it was only a matter of time before rumours about the singer cheating on the reality TV star with “20 other men” became a trending topic across the worldwide. After swiftly deleting his tweets, Rob later refuted that the woman in question was Rita.

4. Rihanna and Chris make up

Now from one break up to one of the most controversial make ups this year. After ending their relationship back in June 2009, after Chris Brown admitted attacking his then superstar girlfriend Rihanna, the status of the former young lovers’ relationship has been a talking point for many fans and showbiz junkies around the world.

In August, Rihanna admitted in an interview with Oprah that she still loved the ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ singer despite his violent past, and soon after Chris partied ways with ex-girlfriend Kurrueche Tran. Many were quick to say that they saw it coming.

Both Chris and Rihanna have had many  fans out there scratching their head’s thinking, “are they or aren’t they” judging by the recent pictures of the pair in each other’s company. But looking at the above snap it’s hard to dismiss that these two aren’t together.

3. Baby Blue Ivy Carter

On January 7, 2012, Beyonce gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter. Yes, that’s right Queen B and Jay-Z brought forth to the anticipation of many die hard fans their first child. After months of speculation surrounding the realness of Beyoncé’ baby bump, it was a series of intimate photoes posted on Blue’s very own Tumblr page back in February, that linformed everyone that the coolest baby in celeb land had truly arrived.

Since then we’ve been cooing over snap shots of Blue living the champagne lifestyle with her music royalty parents on holiday, at home and even at daddy’s Watch The Throne tour. We’ll admit it, we just can’t get enough of little Miss. Ivy Carter.

2. Tulisa’s sex scandal

Tulisa Constavoloas may have left her ghetto fabulous N-Dubz image behind her and transformed into a glamorous prime time TV princess, but it’s fair to say that her journey didn’t happen without it’s fair share of bumps and set backs. Though the singer once hailed as the sexiest woman alive, has had a successful year of promoting herself as a solo artist there’s no denying that the most infamous moment of X Factor judges, year was the exposure of her sex tape back in March.

This resolved in a massive high court case involving her ex-boyfriend MC Ultra, who admitted to releasing the tape, injunctions and a very (let’s just say) awkward YouTube explanation video. The news was so big even rapper Lethal Bizzle shared his very own thoughts in a video to over half a million viewers on YouTube.

1. Whitney Houston’s tragic death

For millions around the world February 11, 2012 marks one of the mot significant dates in the history of pop culture. The untimely news of Whitney Houston’s death sent shock waves around the globe bringing fans and fellow music stars together to mourn the death of the pop diva, who allegedly drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hotel, just one night before the Grammys.

In honour of Whitney’s musical legacy, the awards dedicated a special ceremony to pay homage to the record-breaking songstress. Her family, friends and fellow celebrities gave her an emotional and fond farewell at her childhood church in Newark, New Jersey making it undeniably one of the most significant moments in 2012.
