Travis Garland is a 25 year old American singer/songwriter that all music lovers and music critics should pay very close attention too. Travis Garland is best known as the lead singer of boy band NLT who were discovered by Chris Stokes in 2006. After opening for the Pussycat Dolls on tour and a successful American tour of their own, unfortunately the band announced their split and went their separate ways in 2009. Since then Travis has been focusing on this solo career.
Garland is a very talented individual and has those kind of vocals that will instantly blow you away. These vocals can be seen in the many cover videos that the 25 year old has released via his YouTube channel. Covers include T.I’s “Dead and Gone”, Miguel’s “Adorn” and most recently Beyoncé’s & Justin Timberlake’s “Rocket/Pusha Love Girl” mash up. The cover mash up was released early last month (February 2014) and has already collected over 72,000 views. The concept for the cover is beyond sick! Garland creates the beat using his own beat boxing skills and creates the backing vocals using his own pre recorded vocals playing on repeat. This video shows off skills of a very talented musician in the making. People should pay very close attention to this guy!
Not only is Travis Garland dope in the booth, he is also a very talented and well respected songwriter. Garland penned one of the most popular and successful tracks in 2010. Originally called “Sexy Together” but eventually passed on and sold to Justin Bieber as “Never Say Never”. You can also witness the 25 year olds song writing talents on all three of his mixtapes, “The Last Man Standing”, “Fashionably Late” and “Fashionably Late II”. In late 2013 Travis released his first solo debut album self titled “Travis Garland” with the release of the lead single “Clouds”. Clouds has catchy lyrics and a beat that makes you wanna get up and move. Just a small taste of what’s yet to come! His second album is currently in the works.
Along his journey Garland has picked up several celebrity fans with super blogger Perez Hilton being instantly blown away. With slick song writing skills and on point vocals this young artist is definitely someone you should pay close attention too!
