dayoAll the artists who are independent — throw your hands up! DoctaDee is a carrying the flag for unsigned rappers. The London native, who has the ability to paint vivid pictures, is fusing his roots with modern day culture. Where newbie’s these days rely on co-signs, Docta Dee is doing it alone.

While his new single ‘Tele Mi’ has been in heavy rotation for the last few months, the rapper has today premiered the music video in support of the afro-beat track. “It’s a song for the ladies; it’s also an anthem for the guys,” says DoctaDee. He also explained: “What it basically means is we’re trying to get someone we like to follow us, and the lyrics boast about our attempt to pull a certain crowd. It’s also a celebration song.”

In the lush and colorful video, ‘Tele Mi’, which translates to ‘follow me’, sees the 22-year-old being chased by a number of good-looking ladies. It then switches to a house party, showing the rapper hitting on a girl, who eventually takes a liking to him. What happens next can be left to your imaginations. The single (avilable to download here) is a prelude to DoctaDee’s debut album ‘Loud Thoughts’. The video is directed by Ronke OG.
