Red Bull BC One, the world’s leading one-on-one B-Boy World Championship, will hold its North American 2013 Finals in Houston this Saturday 17th August, in one of Texas’s famed event spaces, Warehouse Live.

North America’s top 16 B-Boys will go head to head in a knockout competition and will include competitors from 15 cities spanning the U.S. and Canada. In what promises to be an intense round of battles, the 16 B-boys will be judged by Red Bull BC One All Star, Pelezinho, as well as B-Boy legends B-boy Wicket and El Nino.

Viewers from around the world can tune-in to watch online some of the best B-Boys dancing to compete for the coveted prize. The winner will be the second finalist to earn a spot at the Red Bull BC One World Finals, in Seoul, South Korea, joining Latin American champion Arex and the past 8 champions.

The North American Finals underscore the cultural significance of Red Bull BC One’s 10th anniversary celebration, having established it’s Hip Hop heritage and style of dancing that originated on the streets of New York City in the late 1970s.

B-Boying, one of the four pillars of Hip Hop, has a long and storied history, with breakers having elevated the dance into an art form over the years. Communal and competitive, talented B-Boys long to pit their moves against the world’s best, and Red Bull BC One has become recognized as the scene’s premier one-on-one tournament, attracting challengers and fans from across the globe.

The North American Red Bull BC One Finals, along with the four remaining Finals, as well as the Red Bull BC One World Finals, will be livestreamed at www.redbullbcone.com. Last year, millions of people tuned in to watch Mounir claim glory in Rio de Janeiro. Viewers also witnessed heroic stories of B-Boys battling their way to the top, as well as superhuman feats of physical strength and innovation, and an all-out celebration of the evolution of Hip Hop culture today.
